On the cup-forming machine, the side wall is wrapped into a cylinder and its seam is heat-sealed, the base is inserted and sealed, and the rim is curled to complete the cup. Cups that pass quality control are stacked and packed. Double wall cups have a second paperboard layer added over this body, which provides heat insulation.
