What is a paper soup bowl used for?
A paper soup bowl is a food-grade paperboard bowl coated with PE (polyethylene), made for serving and delivering hot, liquid food. The coating keeps liquid from soaking into the board; the wide opening and low body make it easy to eat from with a spoon.
Restaurants, soup bars, food chains, caterers and canteens use the bowl for takeaway and courier orders. The same bowl also works for cold servings such as ice cream, pudding and fruit.
Which bowl should you choose?
There are two bowls in our range; the choice depends on the food you serve and the look you want:
- 16 oz paper soup bowl: about 480 ml, 115 mm rim, 300 g/m² board with PE coating inside and out. For soups and liquid dishes; available in kraft, white and printed versions.
- Kraft paper bowl: a natural kraft-look bowl with an optional kraft paper lid. For bowl menus, pasta, rice and hot snacks; sizes on request.
- For noodles, wok and stir-fry dishes, the fold-top paper noodle box is the better fit.
Why a double PE coating matters
Our 16 oz bowl is coated with PE on both the inside and the outside. The inner coating keeps it liquid-tight; the outer coating helps stop steam and condensation from wetting and softening the outside of the bowl, so it keeps its shape when carried full of hot soup.
In production, every batch is checked for leak-tightness, dimensions and print quality, and the board comes from FSC® certified sources.
Lids, printing and wholesale orders
We plan matching lid options with you at quote stage; the kraft bowl has a kraft paper lid option. Your restaurant’s logo or a pattern design can be printed on the bowl.
16 oz bowls ship in sleeves of 25, 40 sleeves per case — 1,000 bowls per case. Pricing depends on quantity, lid and print options.
